Deodorant and perfume are alcoholic solutions of fragrance oils but differ in the percentage of fragrance oil and the grade of alcohol. Perfume is a chemical scent that is designed to produce a pleasing aroma overpowering anything else. A deodorant is a chemical add-on that will help to cover up and eliminate odours. Its goal is to deodorize. Perfumes are strictly to cover up and overpower.
A deodorant is a 6-15 per cent solution of fragrance oil in an 80 per cent grade of alcohol. Perfume usually contains 15-25 per cent fragrance oil in pure ethyl alcohol. Deodorants and anti-perspirants help control body odor and sweat. They work, but not if you apply them on your clothes. Most deodorants are alcohol-based and contain anti-bacterial properties and perfume.
“A perfume can’t remove body odor, Wear perfume in places where you want to smell sweet like Ears, neck and the wrists are ideal as the body temperature rises, the perfume evaporates, imparting a fragrance. A deodorant, on the other hand, should be sprayed or applied directly on the skin. Come out of the bath and head straight for the deodorant; one application should do for a normal day. The smell of perfume remains longest while deodorant lasts for the shortest extent of time.
Deos and perfumes are for making you odor actually good. Perfume is more concentrated and stronger whereas deodorant has an anti bacterial essence which put off the increase of bacteria on the skin.
